The International Symposia of Ceramics in Bechyne have been hold without interruption since 1966 and in this way it is the oldest regularly held event of this kind in the whole world. Every second year mutable groups of artists meet there to show their skills in creating sculptures and objects from clay. The artifacts may be both of the free or applied art character. The works created at these symposia find then their placement either at the International Museum of Ceramics in Bechyne - which is an integral part of the Ales South Bohemian Gallery in Hluboka nad Vltavou (AJG) or at the National
Gallery and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague
